Madden 10 Cover – Larry Fitzgerald &Troy Polamalu

After months and months of keeping us guessing the folks at EA sports have unveiled the players who will be gracing Madden 10.  The lucky or unlucky athletes (Madden Curse?) are Larry Fitzgerald, WR for the Arizona Cardinals and Troy Polamalu, Safety for the defending Super Bowl Champs the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cover - Madden 10

Will both (Polamalu & Fitzgerald) suffer from the Madden Curse? Or maybe only one? Only time will tell...

I’m definitely feeling the cover.  I think once again the folks at EA sports have outdone themselves by choosing two great impact players from the 08 season.  Let’s just hope that they don’t become victims of the Madden Curse.

What do you think… Will the curse continue? Perhaps only affect one these guys? Let me know your thoughts… My call is that one of them will definitely have an injury or will not live up to expectations and the curse will live on.  Either way, great cover and cant’ wait till Madden 10 comes out in August!

UConn Women’s Basketball – 2009… The Perfect Season

UConn Huskies... 39-0 The Perfect Season

UConn Huskies... 39-0 The Perfect Season

The 2008-2009 Connecticut Huskies achieved a rare feat.  A 39-0 perfect season and NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Champion.  Perfect seasons aren’t anything new for the CT Huskies and coach Geno Aueriema, having achieved two perfect seasons in the past (’95 & ’01), but this one was different.  This year’s CT teams led by Tina Charles, Renee Montgomery and player of the year Maya Moore, made NCAA history by being the only team (men 0r women) to win every single game by double digits.

T. Charles - Chip Game

Tina Charles - 25 Pts, 19 rebounds

They culminated the perfect season by defeating the Louisville Cardinals in the Championship game 76-54.  Louisville’s All American Senior Forward Angel McCoughtry did her best in the Championship game by chipping in 24 points and even keeping the game close during the first half but the CT Huskies simply had to much star power.  The Huskies led by Tina Charles’ 24 points and 19 rebounds turned the gears on during the second half of the game and cruised to the victory.

National Player of The Year - Maya Moore

I believe that CT Huskies aren’t being given enough credit.  Can you imagine the pressure and intensity that they played with every night to guarantee this perfect season by winning every single game by double digits? Coach Aueriema explains it best “I tried to explain to my players that it’s impossible to be perfect, but we can work every day to be as close as we possibly can.” Coach, you and the Lady Huskies should be proud, because in your case perfection has been achieved.

Cheryl Miller vs. Scott Pollard – Cheryl KO’s Pollard

Just like Mike Tyson did to Marvis Frazier in ’86, Cheryl Miller clearly had this victory in hand about 30 seconds into the broadcast.

After you see the above video from NBA TV you can clearly see that Scott’s arguments are totally ridiculous.   You have a 10-year NBA veteran who was Pollard-Crazynessnever a starter during the regular season and whose only claim to fame during his playing career were his crazy hairstyles (**special note – at the beginning of the video clip, Pollard is showcasing his ring like he actually did something to earn it, when he never played one single minute during the ENTIRE NBA playoffs & finals) vs. Cheryl Miller – one of the best male or female basketball players who ever lived, who led USC to 2 national championships, scored 105 points in a game and amongst her many, many accomplishments is a member of the basketball HALL OF FAME.cheryl-miller-the truth

During the clip Miller tells Pollard, research me and you’ll know I’m the truth unlike Pollard who as we all know his only claim to fame, was not his skills on the court but rather his relationship with his barber.

Pollard challenges Miller during the exchange, I’d love to see this game go down… But we all know who the victor will be,  my money is on Cheryl – all day, everyday!
